Following breakfast at the railway station we purchased our tickets for the Barcelona Touriste hop on hop off bus. It has three circuits, red, blue and green. We rode the full red circuit first to give us an overall view of the city and work out where we will hop off. It took about 2 hours to complete. There are soooo many tourists in the city with 4 cruise ships docked in the harbour. The first stop we got off ...

    Day 46 - Barcelona

A travel blog entry by rachaelmcneil on Aug 25, 2014

... We found a nice place, sat down and had another really good meal for the day! We had a seafood paella which was awesome and this sangria was defiantly alcoholic. After we ate we went to the supermarket and got a bottle of red wind and some chips and headed home. On the walk home we realised it was a cork bottle so I went into a little restaurant and they were nice enough to open it for ...

It is amazing and interesting and has changed so much from when we last visited over 20 years ago. We wanted to climb it but the ...

Once Jess left, it was eery quiet at the villa. I occupied myself packing and repacking the bike so that, if needs be, I could move all the items in the big bag at the back, fold it up and strap a backpack (such as Jess') and still carry a pillion. I also took very accurate measurements of milage and litres and found that the bike was getting very poor fuel economy - the fuel light (meaning 1/4 left) was coming on just 120 miles (about 200km) in. My bike does at least 300km before ...

... it was a bit "too touristy" so after a wine and a couple little snacks we hit the pavement in search of a new spot. We found it right next door to lasts nights cafe and proceeded to share an excellent bottle of Spanish wine, plus a mixed Catalonian cheese platter, jambon (again), asparagus, olives, potatoes and bread. Once again, an amazing and enjoyable meal! As we walked home, every place was packed with very ...
