... yet had.

We followed the Creuse River on a GR. We once again took the GR to bypass the roads, which is where the traditional pilgrimage route would have taken us. The route today was longer and more difficult than the pilgrimage route, and it was well worth it. In fact, today was by far the most physically difficult route we have taken, and it was also a bit dangerous with all the steep climbing and descending. It’s definitely not ...

... as we could not find a place to stay in Gargilesse, our only option would have been to walk 30+km to Eguzon. Considering the hilly terrain, this would have been extremely difficult. So, we accepted the ride. What we did not know is that our hosts wanted to make a long detour to show us their summer house. We wound up and down the narrow roads for over half an hour. ... the town had literally been 30 feet from where we had met the two women. There’s something about walking back that just seems to take ten times longer. It wasn’t terrible, but it’s never fun missing the trail!

I had a bit of a hard time today because it was so hot. I know that as I go further south and it gets later into summer that I will have an even harder time. I have never been able to tolerate the heat, and my ...

... with two beds, two desks, and a table in the
kitchen. Not bad, right? Wrong. There are no sheets, blankets, or pillows for
the beds. There are no towels or soap for the bathroom. There are no pots or
utensils in the kitchen. It is an empty apartment, which would have been nice
to know ahead of time. Its location is also terrible. We are in the middle of
and Arab banlieue, far from the town center and cathedral. Because of this, I
have had no time ...
