... de Sainte Croix. It is a spectacular view from the cliffs up above the lake as we rode beside the lake. The only downside was the strong cross breeze that buffeted us for quite a while until we turned inland and headed through fields of lavender with a tail wind. Back on the official alternate route we headed into the very pretty town of Moustiers where we will spend 2 nights.

Saturday June 15 Drive from Valfrejus to St Andre Les Alpes Picture-perfect on awaking in Valfrejus. Time to check out the route down to Provence. We are heading south towards St Andre Les Alpes. As we descend from Valfrejus we observe a fort on the other side of the valley. Makes sense because the topography of the area would declare this site to be strategically important. ... by Monks and then there were stairs, many, many stairs leading up to a church at the top of the hill. The views from the top were amazing but the village was even better. It had a waterfall running through the town and many of the shops were built into the rock. Many artists seem to live there and the village is known for it's pottery. This is our favorite village so far.
