    ... point in the city, is seen as the guardian of the city and is commonly called a bonne mere (the good mother).

    Once we got into town, we took the long route around the harbor, grabbed a couple drinks and headed to the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations, referred to as "Mucem".

    We walked a ton and now I'm finishing my night with a glass of wine and a good meal. Sante! (cheers!)

    First day in La Ciotat where Karine and Olivier live, right not the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Went to bed late, woke up a little late, and bummed around for part of the morning. Once afternoon struck we were off to Cassis to see what the coast had in store for us.

    ... lunch and returned the hotel. We relaxed around the pool until about 5:00 when we walked back downtown for a last bit of sight seeing and shopping. We had a wonderful dinner of Mussels and French Fries followed by specialty coffee and dessert. We returned to the hotel where the group met to cleanup any left over wine, etc. That is all for now, Cheeers ...

    Sitting in the late day sun in our kitchen writing this with the wind coming through the window. Kind of ironic that we are listening to Summer Winds by Frank Sinatra.     ... The starters were cold soup with gazpacho (Marcus and me) as well as a courgette quiche (the rest). I actually preferred the quiche. The main courses were either fish of the day or lamb and we all had the latter. It came wrapped in pastry with a polenta cake and for dessert thee kids had ice cream, Bryan and I had peach Melba and the older girls had chocolate fondue.
