Interesting village where Van Gogh lived the last 70 days of his life & where he is buried. He painted 80 paintings & 100+ drawings during this time! Once again we're having unusually nice weather. Last week it was cold & rainy. This afternoon we are sailing back to Paris... Some are touring Versailles & we will pick them up along the river somewhere. I'm enjoying my panoramic windows open and listening to the birds & ...

... did not have the correct connector for a water tap. So we went to a garden centre and stocked up on connectors and hose ends. We used the last one to connect our clear pipe to our blue pipe to reach a tap, so we need to replace that. And Sue gave us rillettes d'oel and I wanted to get some to take with us. ... for our our trip and not hotel rooms as the apartments had lots of room and cooking facilities. The next day we travelled to a small area of the Loire Valley called St Nicholas Bourgieul. We stayed at a B and B on a farm amongst the grape vines (Cabernet Franc which were being harvested). We had booked to go riding for the afternoon but unfortunately it was pouring with rain and quite cold. We gave the riding a miss and settled into the communal kitchen area ...

    A delightful place

... did a bit of shopping.

Another nice day but a bit cooler. We went up into the town to the bakers and the butchers where we got the most delicious meat. After lunch, we walked along the river bank to the lock. It is all very lovely and the houses opposite the Aire are to die for. It was very busy and we now know why we were told not to be too late getting there as you are at risk of not getting a ...
