First Class Hotel with great staff. Excellent Location.
from lStephano
Le Hammamet Hotel deserves all the praise it gets. The location near the beautiful beach is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and the chambermaids do a very good job.The facilities and the quality of service leaves nothing to be desired.
Dingy - Le Hammamet

Hotel has seen better days - rather dingy and depressing - so much so that we changed hotels. Ended up staying the Mediteranee thalasso golf at no extra cost and with lunch thrown in - much much better
Well What Can I Say .....

I have stayed at Le Hammamet Hotel a total of 7 times in the past, and should have stayed there on 23 Sep 05, but the tour operator I went with had not paid the hotel bill and so I was placed elsewhere!!
I have always found the hotel to be absolutely excellent. It is spotlessly clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
In future I'll book with the hotel direct I think to avoid staying somewhere else that believe me, wasn't nearly as good!!

Just back yesterday 6th August 2005. THe hotel was great. The swimming pool is supervised by a lifeguard fromm 10am through to 6pm. The staff are great and so friendly. We went half board and I couldnt complain about the food. It is very reasonably priced at the pool for drinks and ice cream and the pool staff will bring your lunch to the pool otherwise you can go next door to the cafe/bar. The rooms are cleaned daily (give the cleaner a tip 5 dinar (£2.50) and you will get fresh flowers and fluffy towels.) There is a mini club for the children starting at 10am with a range of activities. The good thing is there were no small creatures lurking around the hotel apart from a few small lizards above the lights at nighttime. If you do go, go on the pirate ship for the day, there is a guy that stands outside the cafe at night, you go out on the ship and entertained for about 6 hours, bring suncream and a towel, we went 2 adults and 2 children and it cost 70 dinars (£33) and you get your lunch and unlimited soft drinks), Do not go to Cartage Land in Yasmin Hammamet unless your children are over 10 yrs, we went with a 9 and 7 yr old and were really disappointed as the children were not able to go on any of the rides. If you go you will have a great time. We will definitely go back.
Apart from ants it was lovely

THE STAFF:well overall the staff were very polite and very helpful and answered any of our problems in any possible way they could.
THE POOL:the pool was excellent it has two slides which are very fun for the kids and has a bar directly by it with drinks, ice creams extr.for only 1 to 2 dinars.in english money which is about 1 to 2 pounds.
ENTERTAINMENT:the entertainment is ok although each week they show the same thing but is very good. They also have a mini disco for the kids around 10 till 11oclock.
FOOD:the food is excellent they have a wide range to select from chips to pasta or even to the tunisian dishes.the deserts are also nice they have ice creams yougurts cakes and many other things. The breakfast is quit healthy they have cereals toast, pure orange, tea, coffe, hot chocolate, eggs, bacon and may more.
THE ROOMS:well we wernt very pleased with our room because we had ants crawling up beside one of our beds!! but the rooms are a big enough size to fit suit cases and other things in.They have a t.v with a bbc chanel and the rest are foren french and spanish.the bathrooms are fine with a good shower although i would avise you to bring your own shampoo's,conditioners extra as they give you only one sample for the day you arrive.Theres also a hairdryer in the bathroom.
BALCONY:the balcony is very nice you have a good over look and sea views of the hotel and may balconys are quit private and not in the way of windows or people.
GYM AND INDOOR POOL AREA:i myself havent been in the gym are but it looks good and the indoor pool is lovely for people who want to relax and it's heated with also a jacuzzi.
There are many trips that can be organised like camel rides the beaches and you can get a train ride to the town centre where you can go shopping.
overall i would rate this hotel 4/5 and say to anyone who is thinking of going there to do so because it's a beautiful hotel.
Good overall, but not worth 4 stars, staff not that helpful

We went with Panorama for 2 weeks half board at the Hammamet Hotel, and returned back to the UK on Saturday.
Our comments:
- Hotel staff: some are very friendly but front desk staff are generally not bothered and do not always give correct information. They will just about give you room keys and exchange money OK, but when it comes to booking excursions, or arranging for laundry, they could not be less helpful. We would strongly recommend against giving any clothes for washing - it took us 4 days to get 5 t-shirts back. when we enquired (3 times), they kept saying 'tomorrow'. When we complained they seemed to not care. We also arrived late on our first night and were promised a free lunch on our last day, but the lunch times they gave us were wrong and they would not accept any responsibility.
- The hotel rooms are all the same, and are very dated. If you compare them to UK standards, or even Yasmine Hammamet standards, this hotel does not deserve 4 stars. They are very clean, however, and most have balconies. Take shower gels, and shampoos as they only provide one sample on the day of arrival. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom and the shower power is very good. Sheets, towels etc. reasonably clean (in the 2 weeks we only had been left stained 'clean' towels twice). There is a TV in the room with BBC World, CNN, italian, french, german and arabic channels (about a dozen in total). The rooms are quite large in size, plenty of space for suitcases etc.
- The hotel gardens are just beautiful, you can smell jasmin, etc every day and night. Lots of lemon and olive trees too (some by the pool, which provide a nice shade).
- Outdoors swimming pool: A very nice swimming pool with 2 slides (lots of fun), and a bar, and stools inside the pool. You have to pay extra for the loungers (1,5 dinar per person per day). An animation team is there and they will try as much as they can to get you to participate in their activities, water aquatics, mini golf, archery and so on. The pool waiters are not the most professional, usually looking at women sunbathing as if they haven't seen a woman with a swimsuit before in their lives, and will try whatever they can to get a closer glimpse. Some women are flattered by this, but I wanted my peace and quiet, especially since my man was sitting right next to me.
- The restaurant and food is excellent. There is a good variety of fish, meat and vegetables, and very nice desserts too. There is always chips, rice and pasta and ice cream too. The breakfast is good too, albeit the same every day - marmelades, yogurts, cheese, salad, croissants, bread, boiled and fried eggs, omellete, and sausages, fruit (watermelon almost every day), tea, coffee and hot chocolate. You would need to pay for any drinks with your dinner, a bottle of water was 1,5 dinars and a fanta or coke again 1,5 dinars.
- Indoors pool/ fitness centre: The fitness centre was closed, but we had a quick look at the indoors pools which looked nice. They also do massages and other treatments but we didn't try these (the prices were slightly less than in the UK).
- night entertainment is usually an animation show (between 10-11p.m.) which was very lukewarm, clowns doing a cabaret, and a belly dancer in their 80s disco which arrived about an hour later than the time advertised. The Fourati hotel opposite do much better shows (drag queens and dancing) or if you want more options head for yeasmine hammamet and explore the marina and medina, where they have live folklore dancing every night.
- the highlight of the hotel in our opinion is the cafe maure. the best in the area, with a cool ambience (only downside is the radio channel and the news every half an hour). lovely mint tea and a very friendly waiter dressed in a local costume.
Relaxing Holiday

I've just returned from a girlie holiday in Tunisia, as a last minute change of plan caused by a holiday group we were'nt really left with much of a choice! Not knowing what to expect we were very pleasantly surprised! The hotel rooms are very basic (no fridge) but spotless. The gardens of the hotel really added to its appearance. We used the pool in the hotel nextdoor which is run by the same company and was always very quite and peaceful!
The beach is straight across the road with a wonderful little restaurant!
You wont be disappointed!
What a honeymoon!!!

We decided on Tunisia for our honeymoon and we certainly made the right choice. A lovely hotel with superb staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Amenities were spotless and everything appeared to be cleaned every day.
The food was simple but varied and catered for everyone. There was always a traditional Tunisian dish but chips and salad were always available.
The beach was just across the road but we spent most of our time by the pool. A must is to try to go on the trips organised by the hotel....the camel rides in the outback are a must!!!
A highly recommended vacation.

Have stayed here many times over the years, although as it no longer does all inclusive, we have moved our allegiance to Les Orangers Beach next door.
The location is superb - at the end of a cul-de-sac and just 1min walk across the road to the beach. Lots of great little shops with no hassle, and all of the other hotels in the street are well worth a visit too.
Food is magnificent and the entertainments staff keep everyone happy. There is a small disco, but remember, this is africa not ibiza, so don't expect too much. Rooms are spotless and cleaned every day so please be generous to the cleaning staff who earn very little and try so hard to please. Same goes for waiters, porters, etc.
Brilliant for a lazy, relaxing holiday !
