    ... were running low. Then about 4km from the top the temperature plummeted and the rain continued in ernest. We were shivering so much our bikes were shaking! Thankfully once over the top there was a little cafe where we hid for a while drinking hot chocolate and eating ham and cheese omelettes. We made it safely back to the valley where it was glorious sunshine and we laid everything out to dry. Phew. An exhausting ...

    It's been a wet start and finish to our first wedding anniversary today. Best intentions for an early start we're delayed by heavy rain this morning, but we made the first 50km before lunch in great time and had a big lunch outside the supermarket in Saint Michel de Maurienne. We then climbed Col du Telegraphe and the rain started again just as we arrived into camp in Valoire.     ... to go up the hill a bit to watch them struggle a bit, and to see what we would be like the following day. We saw them and before you knew it, the break away group had come and gone. Then a couple of minutes later the pack was there and then they were gone too. There were a few riders between the breakaway and the pack, but it would have been really horrible for these guys.
