... late Friday night and stayed out until ~5am having dinner and champagne/wine. That said, we were diligent tourists and were up by 10am on Saturday to see the city. On Sat we visited the Eiffel Tower, the Hotel des Invalides (which includes a WWII museum and Napoleon's tomb), and the outside of the Louvre. Then on Sunday we saw the Musee D'Orsay and Notre Dame.

On Tuesday morning, our alarm went off at 5am to get us to the airport in time for the flight from Nice to Paris. Hang on, aren't we meant to get a sleep-in on holidays? ... so we sat and had a cup of coffee. We caught the 10:15 Thalys train to Paris. Boy did it go fast. It was only one hour and a half to get there. The kids weren't too impressed with it but they did like that we have four seats all facing each other with tables in the middle.
