... We join the throng filing around the tomb. It is a simple stone sarcophagus set in on open column with a simple iron grate above and below it set on a modest pile of concreted rocks. There is a simple altar in front of and below the sarcophagus. It looks like this simple, humble man's life has been respected and honoured in his death. You walk around the column in which tomb is kept. It has iron grates keeping the stone safe. People are ...

... about bringing Vegemite but I dismissed the idea and seriously did think I could go twelve weeks without it!

... br> Lunch was great and cooked much lighter than in Australia. We ordered our favourite mains of lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork and fried rice However entree antipasto plate was a variety of little fried things, like spring rolls, so fresh, and lots of, "I don't know what", however with the accompanying dipping sauce, all tasted great!

The coatings on both the lemon chicken and sweet and sour were much lighter than they serve at ...

Today began early with a 5am wake up call. We were packed, boarded, and on the road by 6:30 headed to Assisi. A three hour nap later we arrived in the beautifully peaceful city. Late morning we had tours of St. Francis church ending at his tomb. After we spent some time there we headed to the hotel to check in and get lunch. Italians eat a lot of carbs, which don't fill you up for very long, so by the time we say down to lunch I was starving. I had some ...
