Le Grand'anse Guadeloupe

Although we have been cruising from Grenada (our favourite) and been heading north for a month or so, we are finally taking out the time to tell a tale of one of our days on Dominica, a poor but beautifully lush country. During our week in Dominica we decided to spend a few pennies and tour the island's interior with its 7 volcanoes, 365 rivers and many waterfalls. ... show lounge to see the Moulin Rouge show put on by the Entertainment Team. Then up on deck to bring in the New Year. It is tradition on boats to have the youngest cadet sound the ship's bell twelve times to signal the New Year, the captain sounded the ship's horn twelve times too, then the party started! Lots of balloons, streamers and confetti. A live band on deck and free champagne....

... When you are a passenger in a car you never put your hand out the window at anytime. All the cars on the road have there mirror on the right side, scratched or completely gone because the car they are passing will come so close to it will damage or destroyed it. I plan to go to Ross College, which is about eight miles from town tomorrow. I would like to join their gym. If it is possible I would like to go ...

... that there is a list of guides on the back of the pamphlet that I could call. I did call one and got some good information about when the tourist season starts and he could call me when he has more people to set up for some hikes. If you go by yourself it cost a lot more and not as much fun. So that is what I am going to do. The tourist season starts in January. I am looking forward to that! There is something I have not mentioned as of yet ...

... of places to hike. Notably, there is a Zoo with a suspension bridge where you can walk around the forest 15-20metres above the ground! There's lots of trails that lead to waterfalls, however the finest are Cascade aux Ecrevisses and Saut de la Lézarde. Cascade aux Ecrevisses is an intimate, picturesque cascade with lots of lush vegetation and a beautiful warm pond with a waterfall where you can swim. It's well worth the trip as its quite secluded ...

... Of course, it was a raggae night on the beach and, as Delphine named it, you could smell 'les herbes de Provence! something was going in the place.. and it was not only ****, but mixed couples. Just a fee minutes there and I heard somebody addressing to me, apparently quite worried... and proposing to me "some very good time". Poor him, I was already having some, but not the same kind he meant :-)

Et voilà... I'm starting to get used to the idea of being on a site and reading the guidebook, it seems to be a much better choice! I'm waking up quite early in the morning... apparently there is a cock somewhere singing like a cock. Anyway, moving the curtains and seeing the sea no more distant than 30 meters is of great impact on me! The day is spent trying to get up some strength... I've left for this trip quite out of ...

So we got on his scooter, well actually Cardosos scooter and went to Gustavia. Not a lot of people around, this is definately looow season, but we went to a couple of bars, passed by Shell Beach and ended up at the Yacht ...

... to English Harbor after our week's circumnavigation, we checked at the gate for the rest of the kayak. Still no show! After threatening further action (not sure what that might have been), the kayak pieces "arrived". All's well in the end.
