... inside is a double helix designed by davinci so that francois the premier could have his mistress go down one staircase while the next is going up. dude was big pimpin apparently.
next was cheverny, which people actually still live in. crazy. the inside was the most elaborately decorated. loved it. the woman who lived there had her wedding dress on display too, not so impressive though. i realize she was married in the 90's, a fashion dark age ...
... committed by kids. except using much smaller words. maybe at least they'll think i'm older than i look now?
btws when asked my age i replied, a true lady never reveals her age. my 2 faves in the class laughed at that one. at least someone got my jokes!
and tomorrow?
another day of very early rising to greet the bus, and go to a class that i may or may not actually have.(thanks eve)
looks like i've got my work cut out for me.....
... blue/green shutter doors. i feel all french like whenever we open and close them.
so tomorrow is my first day of school for real. eek. little nervous, its a class of terminal and then the professional school. definite potential for them to be older than me. oh *****, i already look like im 12 haha.
yet another part of this lovely adventure!

Just paid a fleeting visit to St Tropez on the way to Avignon (so we thought)... had to be done really.. a quick wander around and a very quick coffee. It was much smaller than I thought. Lots of nice boats but loads of tourists too.... that was about it!
... believe our luck. It was so nice. Still, warm and crystal clear water on sandy beaches. We had a quick swim but knew we had to leave to get to Avignon on time. We then decided that if we found a campsite that was open we would stay. The first 2 we came to were closed and we were sad...but around at st clair beach one was open! Woo hoo!!!! 2 very happy girls. That night we played in the sand like kids ...

Wednesday was interesting. :) We had an excursion planned for Antibes. To start this story off, I should say that my house is far away from the school. Not incredibly far, but about a 25 minute walk, so we got bus passes, it's been nice at times and hard at others. After school Armi and I decided we needed to run home before the excursion, so we let our professor (can I just say that learning French has COMPLETELY messed with my ability to ...

Nice, France the_stamms... had about 2 hours walked around. It was a little dreary and rainy, but still lovely. Like I had the whole town to myself. Had a sweet lunch of Prosciutto (sp?), homemade chips, and a sprite... and then on the train to Genoa... From Genoa had another 45 mins before my the big leg to Nice. This was a reserved train car, where you sit in a compartment with 5 other people. I was really lucky... There were only 4 others. A blonde girl (20's), a young Italian guy (mid ...
Nice, France nyguy79... of cash. We had a reasonably-priced dinner last night at a place near the beach called Galaxie Crepe (they serve more than just crepes) and the service was very friendly. I'm in France for one more night before heading to Italy tomorrow. I've been told not to got to Milan and will try to stick to smaller places before I hit Rome. I've been here 12 days and through 3 countries so far and not a drop of rain has fallen. This is spring? :)
