We had lunch out on the Aquavit Terrace on the ship. We wanted to take advantage of eating on the deck since it wasn’t raining today. They had flank steak and yummy shrimp sandwiches among other things. During meals drinks are free. I asked for an extra Coke to take with me. They always have a coffee/ tea bar with delicious cookies available. The raisin cookies are to die for! We spent the next few ...

    Day 1 March 24 & 25

We went to JFK airport early for 8:15pm flight to Charles De Gaulle airport France. We used the curbside check-in since it wasn't too cold and we didn’t want to drag the bags in. They took someone who had an earlier ...

... Fromager (bought some of their signature Delice de Pommard cheese), Marche aux Vins wine cellars, Athenaeum de la Vigne et du Vin gift shop and the Basilique Collegiale Notre Dame. We were astonished to see literally hundreds of big, expensive motorbikes roar in and park all around the market square and Hotel-Dieu...I guess even black-leather clad bikers like to ...

    Beaune - a great town

A travel blog entry by robertsingleton on Jul 17, 2014

This morning we awoke in the perfect little Baune campground, complete with manicured hedgerows between sites, to a leisurely breakfast. At 11am, we packed up the van and drove 3 minutes down to the outer rampart of the old city where parking was free and easy (for once). Beaune is considered a center for the Burgundy wine trade and has been since early medieval times. It's cart-wide streets are packed with caves, French for wine tasting rooms. ...
