Exploring Guadeloupe

A travel blog entry by kerry.blackett on Jul 02, 2015

... Katie and Dad swam and snorkeled. Mum stayed out of the water and watched from the side.

It should be a relatively calm sail compared to previous sails with a beautiful clear sky filled with ...

We are so grateful we did because it was just fantastic! There are two uninhabitated green islands surrounded by reef. The area is a procted national park so there is no fishing or taking of any kind. We took a mooring ball since anchoring is not allowed. Our spot was twenty ...

We were told about the beauty and charm of De Saints, Guadeloupe by many fellow cruisers. They were spot on. The De Saints is about 20 nautical miles north of Dominica so it was a little less than a four hour sail from Portsmouth, Dominica. We entered the Saints and ended anchoring at Pain A Sucre of Terre De Haut. The anchorage is lovely with a beach surrounded by a cliff and a small mountain. We anchored in 50 feet of water which is something we had ...
