After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
Menton, Provence, France darrenhough74Up early as it was a spectacular sunrise - full of pinks and organges. We wanted to hit McWifi before we entered Italy but we did not find one until later in the day in Menton. Before that we drove the coast road through Nice and Monte Carlo, both concrete ...
Monte-Carlo, Monaco darrenhough74... wine bottle and then we thought they were off on the trail, but no they got in the car and drove on!
At the end of the gorge we joined the road towards Cannes, which was route Napoleon, orginially created by him as a pass through the mountains...very windy. Our destination for the evening was Grasse where we found a good park overlooking the city lights and our first view of the Med.
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74... Sailboats were docked at the marina (knez, it made me think of you). Diane ordered mussles and Jon and I had our first mussels ever. They were delicious. Thank you Diane for helping me discover my love for sea food. St-Tropez was further than we thought, but thank god we ...
Cannes, Provence, France sofenjon... experience at Sababini's was very personable! The eight course meal was superb! We both chose the steak and lobster, otherwise referred to as surf and turf! The service was fantastic! Sabatini's provided a more intimate and personable experience! We were glad we arrived with an apetite. Otherwise, the eight courses would've been too much. The champagne carried us through dinner until the cappuccino's. <br ...
Monte-Carlo, Monaco ricknelsie... The Italians are leaving today as it is the end of their long weekend.

There is lots to do and see around here. The amusement and marine land look like they are well attended by the people here and the ones getting off the train. The pool, pizza place, which is very good and the market and bar/eatery and free wi-fi is very convenient. So this is the Pylon Resort, just off the main drag. There ...
Antibes, Provence, France dancejill... We spent the day biking from Juan les Pins, through Cap d'Antibes, and back to Antibes along the coast. Beautiful! We don't have very good internet service here, and will possibly be without for some of the next stages of our trip, but promise to enjoy the scene. We head to Italy soon, just for a few days. We'll certainly keep updating as technology allows. As always, we love to hear from you and hope everyone is doing well. Peace Out, -Stopher & Jamie
Antibes, Provence, France jamierand... huge, sloppy kisses on my cheeks. He basically saved my day and was the nicest guy. In fact, I have not had one negative experience with a French person yet. I find them to be incredibly warm and welcoming, but it may just be because we got rid of Bush and Obama is our new president. They are very happy about that! So the next day (Saturday) was our first planned trip with my study abroad program to a small town called Eze and a bigger town you might've heard of, Monaco ...
Antibes, Provence, France k1thomas... road thankyou, I held up the traffic did not have 2 euro in change, an attendant came to see the hold up gave us change and we were off I could have paid by credit card but the toll machine kept saying card refused to my credit cards, even the medicare card was refused dont know why. About 5km later was another toll booth; this time 80cents as we were on a bike, 1.50 for a car, we are well off in WA. On ...
Antibes, Provence, France 2bikers... it got special. There was some sort of yellow/green stick poking out of the wall which I didnt exactly know what it was. I touched it with the tip of my finger cautiously onto have it slip off. Then I put both hand on it, stroked it up and down a few times and realized it was SOAP! After that fiasco we headed back to the coach and to continue on our way to Antibes. We got there around 7pm, had our dinner then Rosanna, myself, Charlie and ...
