A huge black statue of him was erected at the front of the prison with his right hand held high above his head signifying “FREEDOM” Seeing this, I had a moment of silence, a moment of thought and a moment of happiness

Franschoeks’s motto is ‘eat, sleep, drink,’ so after returning to our Lodge to freshen up and take a wander with the dogs around the vineyard we headed into town. Franschoek itself is a typically sleepy country town in every respect other than in the numerous upmarket restaurants that thrive by providing quality food to hungry wine lovers. So with a belly full of delicious steak I’m off to bed to indulge in the second part of Franschoek’s motto. ...
... that that was probably not going to happen. Several of my friends were still finishing exams right up until Friday afternoon and hadn’t slept in the past 36 hours or so. And since no one had been regularly eating, sleeping, or showering, never mind packing and preparing for the weekend, we decided our best bet would be to postpone our departure until early Saturday morning. ... go to the gym and the library. I didn’t quite meet my goal, but I managed to get most of my errands done before coming back to my flat to get cleaned up, eat lunch, and then go to class. Wednesdays are so exhausting, and it’s mostly the stretch of class from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. that nearly kills me! (But I guess not having class on Fridays makes up for it!)

How has this hotel rated in the past?
A few miles out of town, this is a nice place, but we would rather have been closer in to town.
