Today started with a short ride to a bus depot and a bus trip over the Pont de Saint-Nazaire bridge that spans the Loire river. The height of the bridge was enormous, we were glad to get the bus trip to the other side. We stopped for lunch at the old city walls of Guerande. It is very unusual to see a medieval city with the walls still standing around the old town centre. We enjoyed the medieval city for ...

The ride was long and for the most part uneventful from Nantes to St Brevin les Pins. Total distance travelled was the longest to date, 67km. The trip required us to take a small ferry across the Loire river from Couern to Pellerin. Then we rode along the canals for 17km, along the way we passed 2 roadkill river rats that looked like a beaver but had ...

Hot sun now 27c. Lunch and hot ride through pm. Large beers top quality urban cycle tracks into Nantes. First campsite and proper showers of trip! Everyone one tired. Cook supper in ...

... if you didn't explore the charming villas that remain sprinkled through through town behind the beach. Imagine they destroyed all the beautiful beachfront villas to make way for a wall of concrete boxes Interspersed with the odd vintage hotel and the obligatory casino.
The covered market in town is a new addition since we were there last and it is filled with expensive seafood, and produce where ...

Stayed at an apartment near the beach, owned by a couple who live in UK. Would be a great holiday venue. Quiet, 300m to a great swimming beach.

Travelling here you can have a quick bite on the road in a convenient paddock.

Or go to a local eatery an go the whole hog.

We managed to get to a Brass Band Parade and concert. The concert was held in front of ...
