Had a restless awful night, and left early to get the hell out of there...

... this morning and arrived at the CAF Refuge Les Contamines about 3:30 pm, hot and tired! Our hiking time was about 5 1/2 hours. This was one of our 4 long days - 18 kilometers ( About 10.5 miles). We even taught a few of our group how to play Crowns, even though they couldn't speak English. We also met an Iranian couple, in their late 20's, who are both engineers working in Norway. As different as we think these people are, they are just like us. I had met them on the trail, while I was walking with ...

... plates, some kind of club tour I guess. If you're going to traverse the Alps in a motorised vehicle, at least do it in style.

The climb to the top from Val D'Isere is about 14 km averaging at a 6% gradient. The weather was good to us, no rain, neither too hot nor cold, so it was a comfortable climb.

There is a small shop at the top, and we treated ourselves to a coffee (no milk yet as it was the first day of the season that it ...
