... we had a lovely chill out with all this guys and the we were introduced to everybody.
So far we were really happy at this place. Everything was very basic but all together we felt really comfortable in this place.
After a short night in our bamboo hut we started our first working day. In Dahlias case was this mostly painting. For me it was a lot of building and electrician work to do. It is pretty hard to work four to five hours while the sun ...

      Getting There

... in our retirement, and we went to our old haunt Twin Bay Resort for a glass of red wine with Jon, the resort manager who has become a good friend.

Chandini returned from Phuket that evening, and we arranged with Matt to pick us up at 1:00 pm the next day, Tuesday, July 29. Darren rode in with us in the small Suzuki truck, knees up to our chins, me in the front with Chandi on my lap. Darren had a flight to Bangkok to ...

... we progressed; the water became a little choppy for about 20 or so minutes and we were relieved when we stopped at the first island to drop off a couple of guys who were staying on Ngai. The boats pull up backwards almost to the shore, drop their engine and can sail in to shallow water so a great way to island hop. After this brief stop, we sailed for another 20 minutes or so to Ko Chueak where we donned snorkells and masks and jumped over the side of the boat ...

Thailand Part III - Thai Christmas

... Thailand. Next stop was Ko Lanta an island just south of Phuket island. After getting a few outrageous quotes we decided to take the local bus. We hiked with our bags in 35 degree heat for about 40 min and reached the main highway where we stood under a tree. We looked to flag down a local bus. We had sat there for about 10 min while a few buses flew past and then, all of a sudden, a brand new Mercedes pulled over. The window came down and a young ...
