After our 2 day chill out we got our stuff together and moved about 2 kilometres down the beach, the area was quite cool, like a community, where every bar picks a different night of the week to do events or parties so that everyone get equal shares of work. It was quite different because it seemed like half of the people working in this area were western and the other half thai, it made an interesting combination. But it was nice after a while because ...

... Where do we go for this?” or “How do we get that done?”

In the process of building our home, visiting the island five times a year for the past six years, we have developed some quality friendships, and there are a few people on Koh Lanta that we rely on for good advice. I loved riding the mopeds - I was much better at that than driving my car!!! Last night we had a few drinks and then ended up at a random jungle beach ...

It took ages to find our bungalows as nobody on the island seemed to have heard of them and when we did get there they had given ours away to somebody else so had to wait ages for them to get another one ready. It was alright but just very overpriced considering it had no hot water and just a fan! One night when we were trying to go to sleep there was a really strange, ...

As we approached the dock it already had a different vibe. There were lots of restaurants on stilts lining the waterway and you could tell it was bigger in size. We had to wait a bit for space at the dock as there was only room for two ferries. After about 15 minutes of baking in the sun (much hotter when not moving!) we got a spot at the dock. We lugged our backpacks off and met up with the driver from Nakara Long Beach Resort who shuttled us to ...
