... of a day it was outside).
After spending a good amount of time enjoying the view, we headed back down toward the river, winding our way down little stairs and hills, until we were next to the Ponte Vecchio. At this point, Steve broke off again to find a place to eat, while the girls strolled in and out of shops just taking in the scenery. Later, we met up with Steve and headed back to the hostel for the night in preparation of the big day ahead.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I spent the morning taking an Italian exam!!! The afternoon was a little more fun, touring Palazzo Pitti with my Art History class.
It was a little strange spending it without everyone but my school put together a little gathering for us. A group of us dined on a typical American Thanksgiving at a local restaurant. We were served Butternut Squash soup with bread, Turkey ...

Checked into Academy Hostel which is actually the first proper hostel I've seen in Italy, rather ...
Hi Everyone!
After an exhausting weekend in Brussels, I was in for yet another treat with cooking classes in Florence. Organized by my school, a group of us met with a chef for some lessons.
We were taught how to prepare typical Tuscan cuisine including Ribollita and Stuffed zucchini-flowers.
Everything was delicious & I look forward to trying these recipes at home!
I'll update you soon,
Siara
... all over the place. Manarola was our first stop and we walked along a footpath cut out of the rock that was just about in the water...this romantic pathway was called Via dell'Amore. We walked to Riomaggiore and caught the train to Vernazza. The weather was not cooporating today as we were to take a boat, but there were thunderstorms around and the sea was too rough. Vernazza was very picturesque with lots of pizzerias, laundry hanging out of ...

... the Basilica we stepped into St. Peter's square and the crowds were massive; the lines stretching over a mile long. We grabbed a taxi, ran by our hotel and picked our luggage and off to the Roma Termini we went to catch a train to Florence. So...(you knew it was coming)...Arrivederci Roma! The EuroStar (super duper fast bullet train per Rick Steves) carried us to Florence and gave us "bella" views of the Tuscan ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy jjpinard... no salt and pepper shakers on the table, absolutely no self-service of anything, you can't touch the books in the library or the items in the shops). Any outbreak of Noro goes to the CDC and is part of a report. You're not really any more likely to get Noro on a ship, but it seems that way. I know that with each new semester, the students bring all their new germs to school and about the second or third week ...
