John back on blog duties today, we set off for an easy 15 miles journey accross the Loire estuary to noirmoutier, in little wind so motoring.
A few navigating issues, channels to follow plenty of rocks and shallow water. Plus loads of ships travelling up the Loire to Saint Nazaire.

... very slowly into the wind and waves while we first dropped the main altogether and then pulled it back up the mast, rethreading it into its track as we went. It was bloody exhausting as well; while Mistery Kitty perched on the coach roof while the boat rolled about beneath us, I winched the sail all the way back up the mast.

... our intended anchorage wouldn't be at all sheltered from the northerly winds overnight, so once again we headed into a marina and grumbled about the cost.
