Final day at Talmont, travel to Saumur

A travel blog entry by marshallrj on Aug 15, 2015

Final day at the camp site today and I must say, it's been brilliant here, we have a final breakfast and clear up the hut for 10am, the car is well packed and we have the bikes all racked up again on the back of the car. The Mitton's drive on once packed up and we Marshall's go for for a swim and use the slides for a while,we then relax a bit by the pool until 12 and head off by car after that. It's not too far a drive ...

A wet day, time for a trip to the Intersport...

A travel blog entry by marshallrj on Aug 14, 2015

We wake up this morning and it's a bit damp outside, not heavy rain, but just a bit, by 11am though it's properly raining. Rather than stay and get cabin fever, we get in our cars and drive off to Sables to pay a visit to the Intersport, it's really busy on the roads in the town, we find where we are going though OK and get a few things in the ...

          Back to the board walk

A travel blog entry by marshallrj on Aug 13, 2015

A really good nights sleep last night, but we needed it as we have been quite full on for the last few days. So today, after breakfast we get some sandwiches made whilst the children have a quick dip in the pool, it's always less busy in the morning and they can use the slides etc before its gets busy. Us adults get some lunch made and then for 11am we'll head off on our bikes back to the Marais at Talmont as I want to show the others the Baird walk and salt marshes bike ride. The ...

          Slightly more easy day today......

A travel blog entry by marshallrj on Aug 12, 2015

Not an early start today, but we all agree to just hang out at the site this morning as the weather is good and the children love going to the pool so that is fine. It's sunny though and I can't resist the urge to go for a quick bike ride out into the Marais as its looks just too pretty to avoid. The ride takes effect up through Talmont then down into the Marais on the East side of the estuary, it's very quiet, warm, gentle breeze and ...

Canoe and Tennis, and shooting stars.....

A travel blog entry by marshallrj on Aug 11, 2015

... brilliant time. Back in the cars and we get back for 4.45pm, just in time for Marshall's V's Mitton's at the tennis, another good match and really good fun, young Ollie Marshall carries our team to victory though despite my awful serves and child like skills. Whilst the kids go to the pool, I stay and prepare a paella of chicken and also of fish to eat at 8.30 on the deck of the big house, good ...
