... hit our first port of call Selles. We have never had so many laughs. Inside boat is great. Had to draw straws to see who got ensuites and who got single bunks. Karen and Lou and we got ensuites. Yea! Others got single bunks and Erica got a room to herself. Had a real nice dinner tonite. We all had a few drinks (even Erica) and we got the only other couple in the restaurant to join us! You know how social we all are en mass!

This is our hotel room. Small and pokey. All these photos I called " from" is for Plombieres les-Bains.this is where the train took us from Dijon to Plombieres les-Bains. Beautiful old place. Lots of Roman features! Just come back from dinner. Very nice. Lou shouted a bottle of champagne to celebrate the start of our journey!. Weather a bit drizzle. Hope it clears up for our canal ...
... skies. This is a farm which contains all the work buildings and two large farmhouses dating back to the 1500s. We toured the houses, which also house the stables. We also saw the bakery/distillery, sawmill and grain mill. The ride back afterwards was bright and sunny, giving us another view of this magical countryside.

... long stretch of 10 kilometres without any locks and moored up after the first lock going down for a change, and that was so much easier, at Girancourt. It was only 17 kilometres but the 15 locks took it out of us. When we tied up at 16.30 John put the parasol, chairs and table outside on the grass and went to sleep waking at 6.30. Isi was feeling off colour, perhaps not enough water in the heat (only 1 little bottle of beer the whole day) and of course ...
... that we bought the other day turned out to have bacon and another raw looking meat like bacon as well as the salami, so we had bacon for breakfast.
Isi then set about publishing the blog up to date in between loading the washing machine and pegging it outside. John set about sprucing up the outside as it had been far too hot before and today was just right. He removed some marks that another boats had made without us knowing so looks a lot ...
