Saint-Malo, Brittany, France marianm... gouter...Ca pu!!!!

Le Mont-Saint-Michel, Basse-Normandie, France marianm... the abbey there isn’t a whole lot to see at Mont St. Michel, it’s very touristy. We really lucked out with the weather this past weekend, it rained a little when we were walking around, but it definitely poured when we were driving. Someone was watching out for us.
Saint-Malo, Brittany, France liz.swind... round of Affligate please!
Awoke early to freshly brewed coffee and cereal in bed - can't have eggs everyday! Kim convinced me to go for a run later today and not this morning - her reason she was hungry, but I think she was just being lazy :) Not 100% sure what lay ahead today as we had only planned as far as Vitre, which is said to revial Dinan in the mediavel town alure.
Dinan, Brittany, France darrenhough74Moules, Moules, Moules eveywhere. As we drove towards our next desination the road was littered with stalls of mussels and oysters, infact this region produces 4,000 tonnes of oysters annually...guess what is on the menu for lunch! 1kg mussels and 1/2 dozen oysters for the princely sum of 6 Euro. Can't say we are missing ...
Cancale, Brittany, France darrenhough74... 12 years old. Back at Scooby we watched the stars and bid goodnight to the glorious spot lit Mont.
Mist and cloud greeted us this morning and so our hopes of getting a few sunrise photos of the Mont were dashed. Morning also bought the hordes of tourists and opening of all the tacky tourist shops. The over commercialisation of this site was akin to turning on the ugly lights at the disco! The ambiance so different from last nights reconnaissance mission.
Le Mont-St-Michel, Normandy, France darrenhough74
We arrived in St Malo at 8am Sunday morning, and waited in the departure lounge for about 3 hours untill aymericks friend eddy turned up.
Playing out guitars in an empty terminal, hungover, eddy finally arrived and we drove down in his make shift old banger of a mobile home van. Eddys family are beautiful, he has 3 great kids and a beautiful cottqge in awsome village.
St Malo, Brittany, France ashstmartin... Mont St. Michel. This place is awesome! It's an all day trip, we'll get back home around 7pm, then probably get some local food and pass out.
Le Mont-Saint-Michel, Basse-Normandie, France danimal67... br>
Mont St. Michel was a small walled city, and the best attraction was the abbey. The abbey was grand, but the entrance fee was a little bit expensive. Nevertheless, I didn't hesitate to buy a ticket even a moment. The scale of the structures inside was huge. Everything including outside of the abbey, the city gate, shops and restaurants along the street up ...
Le Mont-Saint-Michel, Basse-Normandie, France misocutlet... had to buy postcards as my photos won't be what I was hoping for, so I looked in many different stores, looking for the perfect pictures. There were a lot to chose from. Eventually I entered the abbey built on the top of the mont and paid to use the audioguide which explained an awful lot. I kept checking outside but the weather wasn't clearing. 6pm I was tired of waiting for the weather to get better and didn't feel like waiting until 8pm when the tide would be ...
