We left Rose's cottage sadly because it had been such a lovely place to be "at home" and made our way further south, together with many, many huge trucks on the main autoroute. A highway which takes trucks all the way from Northern European countries to Italy, ...
... via the SuperU (supermarket) as we needed water and a few bits, then found our way back to the railway line, we were nearly 2 puddles at this point as the sun was so strong. Back to the site for a welcoming dip in the pool, BBQ and and early night tonight, off to Narbonne in the south of France. Oh and I'm sick of the sound of Cicada in the trees!!! they go on and on and on allllll day. See ya all later ...
Well for today's little adventure, we decided on a canoe trip down the river Ardeche to Pont d'Arc, so off we went at 10am, feeling slightly nervous having spoken to our lad Dan last night, he had said be prepared to get thrown out of the boat a lot (he canoed this river loads a few years ago and knows it very well). the guy giving the safety instructions spoke lovely Dutch but only a little English, he kept mentioning rockets which we took eventually to mean ...
... telling me which way to paddle, and we safely made it through and stopped on a nearby bank for a breather and to congratulate ourselves, little did we know what was to come!!!! Having safely and successfully paddled our way through many more rapids we saw the Pont d'Arc and thought YAY we've made it, at that point we saw a large crowd of people on the side of the river, and then we realised why they were there, we could hear the roar of the water and see ...
Yesterday we left Paris. Not much to report. We sat on the bus and had a look at the French country side as it went past on our way to Lyon. A few stopovers and a little bit of group bonding on the bus. We all had to stand up the front of the bus and talk a little about ourselves. Aimee was ******** a brick (very scared for those of you who thought she was pooing) she wasn't even as bad as some other people which was surprising. Once in Lyon we had a wander around ...
