    Lunch with an old friend

A travel blog entry by daniel.swiss on Jun 10, 2015

Today I had lunch with an old friend of mine, one of the last people I still know at my first employer. We remembered the "good old days", and we caught up with the kid's stories. I realized that his youngest is now 15; the last time I saw him, he was ...

    Day 3: Bonn

A travel blog entry by alanad.abroad on Jun 03, 2015

Today we decided to go check out the old part of Bonn. So we decided to head out again with Phil. We said good bye to Phil on the train and he headed to his UN meetings. We rode the train a few more stops.

... Divonne les Baines, a town 15 minutes drive from Geneva (just on the French side of the France/Swiss border). Switzerland is really expensive for food and accommodation so staying on the French side helps with the budget. We went to the supermarket to buy food and I dropped a jar of stewed Apple at the checkout, it broke and ...

As a man of peace Nelson McLaren made his long 25min walk to freedom to one of the headquarters of the United Nations which is in Geneva & known as The Palais Des Nations. Across the road from the United Nations is a monumental sculpture in wood by Swiss artist Daniel Berselt which depicts a giant chair with a broken leg, which symbolises opposition to landmines & ...
