Monaco and Monte-Carlo

A travel blog entry by rachbritton

... we headed back on to the bus and off to Monaco. Arriving in the dark we had a quick tour of the city, saw where Grace Kelly was married, and where she died, we drove past the Royal Palace, and and drove through the Monaco Grand Prix track. We also saw the spot where the only 2 deaths have ever occurred here and it's because they drove into the water.

We also managed to buy some Funkita 2 piece bathers - hopefully I will now blend into the beach crowd a little more. My long john swimming bathers (my only ones) have been copping a few unusual looks! Yes, this is from a city where no matter what shape or size you are, the less ...

Day 19

A travel blog entry by owiedoeseurope

... has lotsof very pretty buildings in the CBD,but like most of the Cote de Azur, there are no really old structures. Most of the 5-6 storey buildings were built in the mid 19th to early 20th century. They are still very attractive and all well kept though. The river that runs thru Nice into the sea has been covered over in the CBD, both as a flood prevention measure and a way to use central city real estate more effectively. there was a stunning site on ...
