The guide even offers a 25c discount coupon to offer beggars instead of a full donation.

It is not surprising there is a sense of humour here, one bar is managed by a semi naked Norwegian who consumption of err herbal products is legend. Kampot, Cambodia albionvicar... of call which was a place further around the coast called Mui Ne. After a quick debate whether to stay in HCMC the night or catch the late bus we decided to catch the late bus that day so that we would get there. As this bus didn't arrive in Mui Ne until 1am we decided to prebook some accomodation at a travel agent. She sorted us out a really nice resort with a pool right on the beach for a cheap price - even better the bus would drop us off at the door at 1am! Brilliant!
Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam chris.cesca... which was perfect in every way (except for no TV or phone but we weren’t complaining). The resort itself was small with only 16 units, and had everything we could want, including a working pool. We found out later that this was a very kid-friendly place and the primary activity for the many children was splashing in the pool (which at its deep end was only about 3 feet). Still, it was much better than the last place, and the price was definitely right at $55/night.

Although ...
Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam lisabraz... is the hotel the minibus driver wanted to take us too, but we spent maybe an hour trekking down the beach to find!
I'm not much of a sun lounger, but even I like this place. The beach is huge, stretching the length of the Island and is completely undeveloped - no bars lining the beach front all the way to the front like it was in Sianoukville. There are hotels, but especially at this time of year its dead. At times each person has nearly a km of beach to themselves ...

Kampot, Cambodia courtenay... navigate the boat--again, we hope the boys learned something from all of that). We finally had close to a hockey moment as the other guests on the boat were a young Russian couple (isn't that kind of hockeyish?). Unfortunately, Boris and Svetlana (as Steve has dubbed them) didn''t speak English and our Russian consists of nyet and Tretiek so mostly a few (a very few actually)smiles, nods and, in the end not even a Crosby vs. Ovechkin debate.
