    We were expecting a quiet day today and Brest lived up to this expectation. There's not a lot from a tourist's perspective to see and do here and as it was Sunday there were no trains to take us to other villages that might have been of more interest. Brest was destroyed during WW11 and like Hiroshima all re-building has been very austere. It is primarily a cargo port and naval base.
