... and our legs and knees felt like petrified tree stumps by the time we reached town. Before Courmayer was the very charming village of Dolonne, which was a treat with its stone streets

Still it felt great to be in a real town after several days of remote wilderness. We had a private room at the hotel and a pizza and wine dinner at a nearby restaurant. We could finally check email and go to an ...

... back at 2pm as they were shutting shop for afternoon siesta..that is just really bad customer service. Not being able to complete the mission we did some grocery shopping and went back to camp for lunch. Rich and I stayed behind when Chris and Jan left again to sort the battery out and we went for a swim, well a good attempt by me. Milking 60 cows a day seemed so differnent compared to NZ approx herd size of 200 to 400 with some reaching a 1000. (perhaps why our rivers are polluted). We even tried some real milk from the cow. Thanks, Melanie, Vincent, Marc & David for a delightful day.

This is the REAL France and we are so thankful to Melanie, Vincent and her family for taking time out of there day and spoiling us. It really is the people you meet along the way that make the journey when you are travelling, the hospitality and generosity that we have been shown in France has been hard to accept at times as we have been incredibly ...

... Savioe Region is truly beautiful - home of the Rebluchon cheese and the Montbeliate cow.

I feel alive, I feel alive I sang as pedaling along, the villages had running water that was portable so we could fill our bottles and drink to our hearts content – oh I love this part of France. There are loads of cycle routes all of varying difficulties mainly red or black – meaning fit or athletic!! We had a mixture of the ...
