Finally I have seen Mont Blanc with my own eyes! It's always been shrouded with cloud when I have been within any point where I could have seen it before. Indeed when we arrived at Saint-Gervais-les-Bains on Saturday it was still missing behind clouds and rain. Those weather conditions continued on Sunday, but when we woke up on Monday, we were amazed to find our house surrounded by tall, snow covered mountains.

... can no longer go out at night and snowboard on form the next day. Muriel, Jonas and I made a good go of it but my feet wouldn't remember how to ride and my board wouldn't do as I asked. Wednesday was also our chalet hosts day off so we headed out for tea, randomly, to the restaurant where Jonas works. We ate with James and Steph, the other couple staying in our chalet. There's another family in our chalet who are part of a big group so we rarely see them, though we can hear them, they can only communicate by shouting, which has become an amusing part of our day.

After tea we headed out to sample the Tignes nightlife. It's not exactly wild, but we joined up with a pub crawl from somewhere and had an entertaining few hours, watching Hannah do her usual trick of attracting every weirdo in a 10 mile radius.
