Today we left the wonderful Refugio Bonatti. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed! We had a short day planned and wanted to be sure we didn't miss too much from the trail the day before after taking the bus. After a slow start to our day, we back tracked a few hours and enjoyed a hole without our packs! Not surprisingly, we found more wild flowers and mountains to capture in photos! ... After last night's debacle, I did some early work on the ipad, and found a camp that read well, right on the shore of Lake Garda.... I must admit, it wasn't difficult as I think there was a choice of close to 50 - seriously.

... through the woods and tall vegetation- but oh, we had no idea want was in store when we turned the corner! Wow! Palenta with cheese seems to be a local specialty. Sometimes it is good... ... we are drinking in copious quantities. But every now and then we come across a little hut in the mountains selling coffee, beer and soft drinks. Today we crossed the 2685 mts, the highest point for the walk, just before we hit the snow, and after going down 900 mts in elevation over about 5 kms, we then started climbing back up, gaining 900 mts in elevation in a long uphill climb to reach tonight's refuge, ELISABETO. ... in English, we have lots of jokes with them, and we have learnt so much about their lives in France.
