    ... interesting about settlement of the area, education and agricultral a hievemenfs.
    Cold chicken and salad for dinner. Sitting around an outside table with an American couple from Florida and 18 cyclist from Holland who had done their 200km bike ride for the day.
    Walked home from jen and graham's about 1km up the pitch black road and collapse into bed.
    Did my blog, couldn't let my followers down.

    ... rocks, bushes etc to transverse.
    Of course we were prepared NOT! It had been hot and sunny when we left.
    It was cool, but ok until we got to the lac, 1770 metres above sea level and the breeze was not hot.
    After checking out the shepherds hut, the temperature of the water and the dark clouds we decided to descend.
    I was freezing in my polo shirt and shorts.
    Hard yakka going down ...

    ... roads. Eventually we found Christopher Columbus's home (unfortunately not much left but a plaque stating this is the spot). We stood and looked out at the ocean and coast and thought how it would have looked pretty much the same when Chris was there.
    We ventured around the new part of town looking at the tourist shops and boats in the harbour before catching a tender boat back to the ship.

    Normal routine of breakfast and then we disembarked the boat As the island is so small we had to take a tender to the shore The ship uses some of the lifeboats as tenders so we got on the small boat to be taken into the harbour at calvi We walked through the cobbled streets to the beach and set up our umbrella and towels, the brolly was definitely the best buy from monte Carlo.
