... longer, eat more courses, drink more coffee. Bad, bad, bad!! It is not a tourist town, despite having quite a few attractions, but it obviously has a lot of grandparents who care for grandchildren in the school holidays given the number of kids pouring off the trains into the arms of older people! The city was the capital of Savoy from the 13th Century until 1563, when the capital was shifted to Turin (apparently the Dukes were having trouble with the French, and could get help ...

Driving a LHD manual was easier than I thought, even though the GPS kept leading us into strange locations - which made the day all the more fun. ... torchons" or tea towels, olive oil and lavender products such as soap. There is also an antique market selling the usual array of silverware, ceramic bits and pieces and general tatt. I bought a small blue leather shoulder bag with many pockets and a cotton centrepiece for my dining table. There was the nicest "stuff" shop I've seen in a while where I coveted a fair bit of the merchandise especially some lovely Murano pieces. In the afternoon we were meant ...

... that tasted fabulous, cheeses that exploded with flavour and fruits and vegetables that were...well fruits and vegetables.

After wandering the old city we found a nice place for crêpes and got a bite to eat - both sweet and savoury crêpes.Then... It started to rain and rain. Mom wanted to go to the library so we spent an hour reading English books.
That night we ate at home and played a memory card game.
