    ... Some really good shots hit by us both, and at 18° I got so hot I took my jumper off! We finished about 3.30pm giving us time to drive to the beach. I'm glad we did, it was lovely. There were loads of people about, enjoying the sunshine just like us. We had a cold drink at a bar on the sands, then took a little walk along the promenade. We were tempted earlier, not to get a parking ticket, because it wouldn't accept our credit card, ...

    ... at our favourite bar, La Scala. It was so warm we didn't want to move, but we really wanted to fit in a visit inside the cathedral. We were glad we did it's lovely. I made Dave go in the confessional, before he got struck down for being an Atheist! 6 frescoes and the dome are being restored to their formal beauty, so there was scaffolding up. Afterwards we climbed the steps outside for a view over the town and a look at the chateau ...

    ... our souvenir. Dave said if we walk downhill we will reach the sea, and the fishing port. Wrong...but we did see the old town and many of its monuments. Back at the Hotel at dusk, the cathedral is lit up and the sky is a lovely shade of pink. A good omen for tomorrow maybe. We went back out at 7pm to join the locals in town for dinner.     Our last day in France and it rained all day. I thought that was rather apt. We arrived in the rain and we are leaving in the rain. It looks like its really happening and this guy is going to take the van. He is very excited and is travelling down with us to Cornwall tomorrow and then driving the Beast away. We are nearly finished one part of our journey and will have some time with Jane and Anton and a small trip to Greece to look forward ...
