... or as they say, American) style gaming.
I had a relaxing time. Bit of shopping, eating, drinking and walking around just admiring the wealthy end of the world. It is expensive tho. Meals and drinks are way over-priced (about $17 aussie for a Johnny Walker & coke!). You even have to pay to use the toilet at the shopping centre and main tourist areas. I won some money at the main casino, then lost it (and some more) at the hotel ...
Have had fun in France. Nice is interesting and the beautiful water of the mediterranian was great to woke up to... Mick went for a swim !! we caught a train to Cannes and we looked around all the exclusive spots but noone we knew... just rich people and us tourists..
we also went to Montecarlo.. fantastic.. even swa a kart race in Monaco... had a look at the MonteCarlo Casino.. impressive if only for the flashy cars and people with too much cash ...
... Monday’ by the Bangles at the airport. Too true...
12hrs after i checked out of my Barcelona hotel, i am in Monte Carlo!!!!! Luckily got the last bus from the Nice airport to Monaco. Amazing bus trip here. I think i was wide-eyed and jaw dropped for much of it. Although it is night, you can see some amazing views, yachts and cross some bridges with HUGE drop-offs down into the coastal valley. The streets truly are Grand Prix style. Can't wait to ...
We didnt do much in Cannes except go to the beach. Got there pretty early and were only planning on spending the day and night but then the realisation dawned that it might be the last chance to be at the beach again. SO... we decided to stay another night and have a final day at the beach. We took a walk around the old town ...
Cannes, Provence, France emmasadventures... the morning shift I ran to the railway station. The return ticket to Monte Carlo was only 5 Euros, and the journey last 15-20 minutes. The views were gorgeous, but the best one was the old town of Monte Carlo and it`s cars. Jeeez! Amazing! Moreover, they would stop in order to let you pass through - before you even got to zebra. I had a very limited time, but the things I saw there made me convinced it was not my last time in Monaco.
It was a pleasing drive towards Nice. Paul sited himself in the back of the car and was much more comfortable (vocally so). We made Cagnes-sur-Mer in under two hours and found a campsite easily enough - not the one I'd planned, but it was fine! - up a pretty wooded valley.
We only had a quick look at Cagnes-sur-Mer on this day. We needed a few supplies so, having put the tent up, we drove down into the town to stock up, and then headed back ...
Laura Kincade (John's cousin) Vincent and their children Alex and Isabelle arrived late Saturday and left early this am. Sat. night we just sat around, ate pasta, talked and let the kids play and watch French Spongebob. Sunday we went to the beach near Cannes - rocky but lovely and at this time of year, empty. We collected Mediterranean Sea glass and Mimi, bless her got in the water - she so wants to go swimming! I enjoyed ...
Cagnes-sur-Mer, Provence, France kwt1981... me sleep in a TENT!! From CHERYL: It truly is hard to describe the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea. As we neared the downtown area of Nice I could hardly keep my eyes off of the dreamy blue water. Of course since I was driving I had no choice! Ok - a few glances at a stop light, but I was used to multi-tasking while driving - ask any one of my work friends how good I got using my Blackberry on the run (Until BETSY convinced me not to). There is a sense ...
Nice, France whatboundaries... I started out with some video poker and played 20 Euros worth. I found myself not very successful with this and decided I would rather try the electronic slots-the ones with five reels and a bajillion line options (ok, twenty lines to win on). Part of my philosophy on gambling is that it is entertainment, therefore, I am willing to risk winnings for additional rounds or spins to increase my playing time, even if that means losing. Yes it is nice to win, but ...
