... next adventure, a cog railway up to a glacier. One that used to be so big it was known as the La Mer de Glacé (Sea of ice). Unfortunately those days were long gone. There were markers along the walk down to the glacier that showed its size in years gone by. It has really shrunk in the last decade, which was quite saddening. Tomorrow's accommodation will be at an Abbey in the town of St Maurice, on the way to Martigny. I doubt I will have Wi-Fi access for a couple of days, so please don't assume that radio silence means anything sinister has happened to me on the slopes.
