Up and at em early today, we're off on a tour of Amboise and some chateaus - can't wait. Decided to take a guided tour today. There were 7 of us on a little mini bus, Trace had organised it through the tourist information office, There was a nice NZ lady, Karen who has been travelling in Europe and the UK since May and 4 young Asian girls, who proved to be more than a little annoying, appears they can't tell the time! It was a spectacular day weather wise, sun shining ...

... We also went for a drive to Gien to have a look around and from there to Briare. It was very interesting as it has a canal bridge that crosses over the Loire River large enough to carry tourist boats and barges. The Pont Canal bridge was built with the help of Eiffel (Tower) back in 1890-94 is 662 metres long and has a footpath on either side.
Electric lights were in use across the bridge while the town was still lit by gas ...
