A more relaxed start today as we left Orleans about 10am for Chateau de Chambord. This chateau is huge compared to others like Chenonceau. The buildings are located on a massive estate of 5440ha that is surrounded by a national park. There are 426 rooms, 282 fireplaces and 77 staircases. Simply, the attached photos don't do justice to reality. The interior of the Chateau was also difficult to record in photos - the rooms were beautifully restored.

... centre for a bit, and up to the cathedral, really nice bakeries around here, that make really nice quiches and great coffee.
Wanted to get into Paris early so didn't stay long but I liked this place, really nice.
Watch out for the trams tho, they are real quiet.

... Alex breathed a sigh of relief as the train trip was lovely. We travelled along the Loire valley, past towns like Ambois and Blois-Chambord, with their beautiful Chateaux and Cathedrals.
