Sitting on the plane heading to Dubai on the Emirates flight home, thinking about the overall trip. Yesterday saw us drive into Verona and wander around town for 4 - 5 hours seeing things missed, such as Juliet's House with its notes stuffed into crevices, and locks a plenty. Had a small altercation with a car that hit me and ran without stopping. Then went back to Allen and Deanna's to have dinner looking over the beautiful landscape ...

Leaving the hotel this morning we noticed 4 cruise ships in the harbour, no wonder there were so many people in town. Out to the countryside where they were harvesting the strawberries, the tomatoes were looking good, harvest for them is August. Very hot and ...

... with great views over Verona. Finally caught up with friends, bride's parents Deanna and Allen and Sandy and Gary. Found that the wedding has been switched from Juliet's House since with 38 degrees and being on the third floor with no lifts or fans allowed, losing a couple of Nonnas wouldn't be a good start to the marriage. Our accommodation is ...

... mosaics, which took almost 300 years to build. Even the detailed stone paving leading up to the steps indicates that one is approaching a special place. The interior is decorated with Luca Signorelli's frescoes, created from 1499-1504 including his famous depiction of the Last Judgment. The Duomo complex includes several additional museums which we plan to visit tomorrow, so we are back to our B&B to get ready for our trip outside of town for wine tasting.
