The B & B was beautiful, our hosts Dominique and Florence just lovely. We had breakfast in the dining room, couldn't converse with a French couple, but could with an Italian couple.The farmhouse and old animal shelters had been restored 7 years ago by the couple, beautifully decorated in French Provincial style.

We were staying just back across the water, in what was billed as a 5* hotel. My eye. More like a motel. Dreadful room, terrible food.My advice would be to drive up, take a photo, and stay elsewhere-wish weŽd done that.
... If you come from the west you can drive a little further and park near a trail. Then it is about 30min walk the the free shuttle bus. This trick will save you 12euros and it is very nice to walk toward the Mont, the view is great.
Even if you want to spare money, you will still need to pay 9euros to get into the abbey. Don't miss it, that would be a shame not to see it from the inside.
