The buildings in these areas commonly have iron stairways on the outside. This looks lovely but it may be miserable in the winter risking a slip and that may cause bodily harm. ... been nice to disconnect from the world. Being in a situation where Internet access is generally unavailable, it's easy to actually disconnect. Gets back to having opportunities for thinking, decompressing.
Unexpected horseradish on the cornbread sandwich. Going to have to remember this trick. Pairs well with the Kilkenny cream ale.

... is a pilot for Emirates. The flights were fine, lufthansa definitely trumps Air Canada in all aspects. I had a 6-hour layover in Frankfurt which was the worst airport I've ever been to - thank god i had 6 hours as i spent about 3 going from terminal to terminal trying to find a place to eat and free wifi. The lady at the information desk must have thought I was mentally unstable after I visited her 3 times! The agent at the Air Canada baggage drop-off freaked ...
... and drove around to old Montreal after we picked up one of their friends from America as they all wanted to go ice skating. When we got down there, there were some really cool fireworks going on over the ice rink so we stood outside in the freezing cold to watch them. We got back in the car to warm up because we literally could not feel our toes

... the lady on reception and she was very sympathetic and said the guy who cleared out the fridge would be in at 4pm. She would mention it to him and we could speak to him later to find out what happened. We were annoyed as we had around $20 CAD worth of food in there and more than that, it meant we had to go shopping again! Despite being annoyed we were nice with the lady and just wanted to talk to the guy to find out what happened.
