    Guignicourt to Xonrupt-Longemer 215 miles

I'll go a long way for a decent scrabble letter. Kate suggested Sainte Marie aux Mines but if you are going to have an x, have it at the beginning. Which is how we find ourselves staring out over a lake in the Alsace region just outside Xonrupt-Longemer.

campsite a bit disappointing compared with what we have been at on our travels so far. Not overly friendly, seems more focussed towards French clientele. Black brackish holes some with boating, fishing and some with gorgeous houses built next to them. We saw an amazing one at la Mer. It's a very relaxed and quite area of France most have forgotten about. This ...

Today I head off to do a spot of boating in France, leaving Pete to the delights of the English weather and croquet. I will meet Lachlan and Victoira, Jeff and Gerda from Canberra, and Heather from The Gold Coast, in Burgundy, northeast France. It's a big day of trains and busses, and I am a little nervous about ensuring: a) I can pick up my electronic tickets Ok, and b) that I make my connection in Paris from Gare du Nord, to Gare de Lyon, without getting pick pocketed or ending up at ...

... we got a big shower and the rest of the day the sun and rain took their turn. We arrived at 5:10 pm at Bellerive-sue-Allier which actually is just over the bridge from Vichy. Hubert just arrived to welcome us. We got settled, organized and our stuff out of the caravan, which we parked in front of the house. As Mylene wasn't there but in Algeria to manage their funpark for a month and a half, Hubert had to do everything and invited friends for a dinner in the ...
