Monday morning and we leave base and climb into cloud, hopefully heading

Across the border into France and we are soon at our home for the next two days, not a word of English spoken by our hosts but we have the whole of the attic for our stay, evening meal out and an early night.
Monday 18 August
A cool day with on and off drizzle. Time to move on from the Meuse and
head towards the Vosges and the National Parks of Alsace Lorraine, north of
Mulhouse. Thought about stopping in a campsite in the Lorraine National Park
but decided to keep heading south, through Nancy and on to the Ballons des

We purposefully chose a stage that required us to see a start and a finish, so the following day we got up early once again and headed into town for some more Tour De France festivities. The town was a buzz with people everywhere. Car parks were turned into VIP areas and roads were sectioned off. It's unbelievable to see how the Tour De France all comes together.
