We took a long ol drive today, heading to the Loire Valley and we thank Grandma for the Loaning of the portable DVD player!!! We can drive in peace, looking out to the sights around, so many pretty villages and once again took the minor roads (a motorway is just a motorway!).

... ago and it had not been occupied in 50 years. What they have done is amazing, with wonderful French antique furniture and fittings throughout. Currently there are only 2 bedrooms available to stay in but next year there will be 4 or 5. We will certainly stay there again and I would recommend it to all of you reading this blog if you have the chance.

We made excellent progress today, sticking on main roads as much as possible. We again had lunch in the restaurant-tabac in Souligne-Flace but made the mistake of trusting in an unknown dish. Paul and I were served a sausage that was frankly repulsive. I ate a little but made the rest of lunch with my chips layed on pieces of bread.

Today we started our 4 day trip to Le Mans and back.
We got started at 11am local time having disembarked from the Jersey to St.Malo ferry.
We had lunch in Pontorson and one or two coffee breaks along the way.
We got to Ernee and out hotel at around 7pm French time, exhausted. About 75 miles covered today.

After two late nights in a row we slept in this morning. Before breakfast we spoke to Helen and Amelia via Skype which was great. We tried to explain the time difference between Australia an France and the different seasons we are experiencing to Amelia. Then after our croissant and coffee breakfast we set off for Mont Saint Michel just over the Brittany border in Normandy.
