          ... Madone.
Lance used to use this to train on just before the TDF each year and judge whether he was in form to win.

Hmm! I will keep a lookout for the US Postal team syringes at the start.

We will then head off to Monaco and the beaches west of here for some sight seeing and a swim.
Saturday we are off to the Pyranees.

On Sunday, three of us took the bus to Menton, about 30 km away. The bus drove right through the middle of Monaco to get there, along half of the grand prix route!! For €1.50 you don't get to go at F1 pace though!! From Menton, we walked back along a coastal walk towards Nice. The path closely follows the shore, taking us right ...

... Dinner along the Riveria. Beaches were still busy with people even at 7.30pm. Beaches are large pebbles, no sand to be seen. Off to our hotel which was a resort out of town. Lovely room with a view out to the marina and the sea. We had a balcony and could sit pout there and enjoy the night time view. There was a sandy section just in frnt of the hotel which was just for guests but the rest was a rocky sand mix. There were restaurants all along the waterfront. We decided ...

... Bay on Sydney Harbour... Driving into the municipality of Monte Carlo (with its police force clearly on show at the entry point) the evidence of wealth went up to a whole new level. Every luxury brand seemed to be represented with a magnificent city centre shop front - Maserati, Rolls Royce, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci etc. The streets and buildings looked very well maintained as though no expense had been spared. We walked from the bus stop down to the casino ...
