      ... out as we went by. The beach was quite crowded and was separated by white picket fences every 40 meters or so - quite strange. The beach itself was only about 20 meters deep but instead of sand it was made up of large round pebbles. I have no idea how all the people were lying on the ground without writhing in agony.
      Hearing how Nice was home to the "Beautiful People" I kept my eyes open scanning the beach seeing if i could glimpse ...

      ... houses and villas perched on the rocky hills gazed over the rich azure of the Mediterranean. We admired the gorgeous view from inside the convertible car, driving on the snaking roads of the Grand Cornice.

With typical optimism, Monsieur leads us on a walk further up the valley where, he assures us, there will be a nice little cafe bar where we can eat and drink.       ... harder. The ladder that had originally been there had broen off and tyher were just a few hooks left. The only way to get up was to wait for the swell to lift you up a bit and then grab frantically onto a bit of jutting our rock. Once you had a hand purchase it waseasy enough to find crevices to put your feet in and grab that two remaining hooks to swing up.
