... car and off into the hills! We found a campsite with a space available in Le Bar sur Loup, close to the Gourge sur Loup, a beautiful canyon that has been compared to Grand Canyon (but on a much smaller scale)! And after setting up and settling down for dinner we both relaxed and prepared for a lovely night of sleep! This was definitely the quietest campsite that we've been in so far! You could hear the crickets, see the bats and feel the nuts that the squirrel dropped on your head! ...

We visited two different vineyards, one was a mediviel village called Montenegrio and it was where we watched the sun set over the Tuscan hills. It was a beautiful moment to end our day. We reached the beach at Nice at the far end and waited for the whole group to assemble before cycling the 5 miles along the Promenade de Anglais to the finish point right outside our hotel. So there it is, 1000 miles from London to Nice. The only mechanical failure was Bryan's blow out on day four. Both bikes in need of a good service but impeccably reliable. ... Port. and there was!!!

Nice is rather spread out , so today we chose the little white train leaving from the Oceanside (Promenade des Anglais), to do our exploring and save our legs in the heat.1 hour of open air sightseeing with headphones and languages to suit the passengers…..certainly a good way to get the overview………. Garry rather fancies the tandam parasailing off the beach (and I made the mistake of saying I will see)- of course he thinks ...
