After the excitement of the race had calmed down we headed out for a late lunch at Spag and Co, an Italian restaurant right on the finish line. It is now time to celebrate Fathers Day. We had a great lunch but also watched some amazing athletes cross the line. By this stage most of them were in the 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, 75 to 79 and 80 to 84 age groups. The pros are coming in to transition so I head for the VIP stand and end up sitting behind the commentator ... ... the hotel some time. The hype around the race is full on. Lots of speeches about the 'journey' the 'commitment' and the spectators get a special mention as well... Which is nice. Full blown north American enthusiasm which is pretty special. I am so proud of him and so happy that we get to do this together. ( not the race of course - the whole experience) it feels like we have been away a long time already and there's more to come yet..... Will keep you ...
