Monday morning and we leave base and climb into cloud, hopefully heading
for Grand Ballon along La Route Des Cretes in the Vosges but unable to see anything, stop for a coffee on the tops and there are cows in the field with bells - sounds like we are
at a music school, cloud lifting and off we go for the 55 mile La Route Des
      Cretes around the ...

but decided to keep heading south, through Nancy and on to the Ballons des
Vosges National Park. Good choice. Ended up at Camping les Jonquilles, with ...

I want to keep some balance now I've got it back! Gosh, blah, blah, blah...... You see, it is time to go home.....! PS no luck with the gas - we're on a student stove now so no more 'a la carte' menus for us! Anyone for Pot ...

... while Luke, Kate and the kids headed more north towards the ferry back to the UK. We checked in to a caravan park and plugged ourselves back in, showered, and made very good use of the washing machine and dryer. It was Bastille Day so that evening we followed the crowds into town and stood around the lake waiting for the fireworks. The weather was just perfect for it and the fireworks were incredible and it really was a great way to end the week we have had in this ...
