After a slightly stressful train delay we got to St Malo, Brittany. The delay which almost caused us to miss our connection was caused by a crane dropping an object on to the railway overhead supply cable, therefore causing trains to be diverted to other routes. However we just made our connection to the TGV and made St Malo in time to walk part of the city walls which are similar to those in Dubrovnik, Croatia. For once Garmin did itself proud, the roads were dry now it although it was cloudy, and we had some brilliant biking roads.
The only down side to picking 'shortest' is Garmin route planners will take you through some f**ker's front room if they could get away with it. So there was the occasional farm track and log pile but overall ...
