The program at ODU partnered with the University of Quebec at Montreal, or UQAM, for short. In English, one would pronounce it U-quam (rhymes with Guam). However, when I said that to the very kind gentleman at the customs counter, he informed me that he pronounced it with a French accent. Oh la la! (In French, we pronounce it Oooo-kam.)
The flight to Montreal was bumpy. Really bumpy. The turbulence wasn't nonstop, but it was close enough.
