      The quest to start the cruise was not an easy one. The drive from Tucson to Phoenix was in the dark and off-and-on rain. Once we arrived at the off-site parking and boarded the shuttle, we thought the worst was behind us. We arrived at our Delta gate at Sky Harbor with 2+ hours to wait. Our dreams of having room to spread out were dashed by the announcement that it would be a full flight. Lee got a little more sleep than I did. My total sleep for the night was 23 minutes ...

      ... I mastered the Metro. I knew what day it was better to get a $10 day ticket (with all the trips I did it turned out to be $2 a trip) and when to get a return $5.50 or a single $3. I knew my station, which direction it was to and from the location I was endeavouring to get to. I was thoroughly impressed by the ease and simplicity of the system.

      Here in Montreal I also had my first try of poutine, a traditional Canadian dish. I cannot believe it isn't available ...

      ... I have a hair straightener and perfume - two items that were sadly lacking at the beginning of the trip. Although, here in Montreal, my hair is silky smooth. Wandered around a bit more and realised it was wine time. Went to the bar attached to the hotel and asked for a wine list. The grumpy waitress said the menus were being redone and we just had to tell her what we wanted. We ordered a glass of wine each and some olives. She sneered at us and off she went. ...

      ... guys to fit the tires. The bike mechanics are cool and we chat about bikes and travel as they swap the tires. With the old knobby tires gone and less aggressive tread fitted the bike feels great.
