    ... the Old Town has been perfect. Walk out the door and there are so many things to see and do.
    Museums abound, walks along streets laden with fashion houses - no possible temptation there as we are already at the limit of airline weight allowances - churches, cathedral, basilica, river cruises - all add to the colours and flavours of such a charming city.
    And the people really have been friendly and charming.

    Ben loved the long walk in the park ...

    Such a lovely morning that we delay setting off and have a potter around Besancon. It is a really charming town and we will definitely come back again. We do discuss idea of staying for a week now but in the end decide to continue south to be sure of hotter weather. South to Lyon, another Mercure chain ...

    ... also ************e else here (?!) and seats in each room, so I plonk myself down and actually look properly at the paintings. The first room I do this in features a Lyon artist (Louis Janmot) and after a while I realise the painting all seen to feature the same two girls, then that they go chronologically following the girls as they age, but in the last one a single girl remains kneeling at a grave. I try to read the French and it does talk about two girls ...

    Hey all!

    After class on Friday, we had a class field trip to the Silk Museum in Lyon. I thought that this museum was much cooler than the Lumiere museum. I learned a lot about the silk industry and the history of silk in France. After the museum, our teacher took us to the best ice cream place in Lyon, which is in a beautiful square.
