We left Sauvignone soon after 09:00 and took the autostrade to Turin and then onwards to Briancon. We stopped at Momtgenevre where relatively fresh snow had been swept for the road into piles on the car park. This was hard to believe as it was actually 20c with brilliant sunshine when we were there! The views of the Alps with snow covered tops, ...

... how many Jambon baguettes can one man eat - only option so...yum yum. The park houses a good number of animals including some monkeys who swung around for us, lion, bear, giraffe and more. I like zoos still! We freshened up and walked over to Old Lyon and found a place with a great patio and some nearby musicians playing for the crowds. We all tried some new and interesting things like duck, cheeses and quenelle. Lots of others out enjoying the night too. Full and ready for ...

Up and at em early, we're of to Pérouges a walled medieval town about 20 minutes north east of Lyon. We walked up to the train station, got a ticket in an automated machine, and had time for coffee before we boarded.....we're getting so good at this. And found a decent coffee - treasure the little things :) The train stops at Meximieux and from there we walked about 25-30 minutes up hill to Perouges, It was All Saints day today ...

... few of those, zillions of planter boxes of all different sizes. The only negative was that all shops (5of them ) were closed to 2.30. That meant no bread. We had everything for the perfect picnic but bread. Had a beer/wine at a lovely place with views worth many euros. Walked back to the car and ate what we had: for me grated carrots, brie, ham and tomato slices. Just lime a salad. Not bad at all after all. Flexibility is the key! From there to Les 2 Alpes where ...

          Hey all!

After class on Friday, we had a class field trip to the Silk Museum in Lyon. I thought that this museum was much cooler than the Lumiere museum. I learned a lot about the silk industry and the history of silk in France. After the museum, our teacher took us to the best ice cream place in Lyon, which is in a beautiful square. We all ordered beautiful and huge ice cream sundaes, but I have to say they tasted even better than they ...
