Woke up to rain this morning but had nice flight to Venice. Arrived one our ahead at 12:15pm. Was met by one of the workers from the tour company I use a lot in Italy and taken to the water taxi station at the airport and got into our private water taxi to the hotel. Had a fun and bumpy ride (lots of boat traffic) to our hotel. Really cool to arrive via the Grand Canal and pull up in your water taxi to the hotel! ...

We took the water bus to the stop close to the service apartment that we had booked through www.airbnb.com. The two bedroom apartment was spacious and luxurious, quite a steal at the price we ...

... on roast beef with a side of mac and cheese. We had a chocolate fondant with berries for dessert, a nice light dessert to end off our cruise. Now it was time to get our the last few pictures around the ship and take a dip in the hot tub before calling it quits for the night. We ended up being the only ones in the solarium area and enjoyed a nice quiet soak before bed. We have an early morning tomorrow as we have to be out of our room by 8 am so we are turning in about 10 o'clock. Good ...

... hill towns around Venice and a visit to a typical Italian Villa and a winery.

We also visited the Grappa Museum in Bassano del Grappa. Peter was amazed at the variety of different flavours of grappa available- Quinine, Honey, Blueberry to name a few, with his favourite being coffee which he said was very much in the ...
