Navi Sad, Serbia, 23rd.
From Croatia we stopped off at a tank on a pedestal as a monument to the war. I met some veterans there, one was blind the other had one hand missing the other was melted but for two fingers.
I was left at the market in Vukovar for two hours while the others visited a museum. Had an issues with the touchy freely driver but said nothing, just stuck with Borris who was delighted we liked his Merc yesterday. Ordered 2 coffees $6 ...

... to the border. Only to be driving down the road to a closed border crossing! Not sure what was going on but we had to turn around and find another way in. Luckily it wasn't too far back. As we had changed route we also changed destination, so we were now on our way to a town called Novi Sad. We parked at a camp site outside of town- quiet, rural, over-priced, and will head into town tomorrow.

Herr Beck then accompanied us to Gakovo (Gakowa), the former hometown of my mother and her family. Our first stop is the cemetery as it is on the road into the town.
