      Started of the day at the local gym with Jo. Then back home for a nice breakfast. Off to Bridlington for the afternoon to see John & Trish. Had s nice lunch at Rags.       ... mind. You would think that it would have had enough of a beating by now but in 1914 it was again attacked. Two German battleships shelled the Abbey and parts of the Whitby township for ten minutes, it's said they were aiming for an Outpost on the headland, history doesn't mention whether the got the outpost but I'm sure they got their attention.Today it is looked after by the British Heritage Trust and has a museum also onsite.
