The following day was a sea day on our way around the bottom of the Italian 'boot' and on to Naples. The ship stopped at 5 am about half way between Greece and Italy after a distress call was received from a small power boat with 42 Syrian refugees. Our ship stood by until the Italian coast guard arrived and took them all aboard leaving the small boat behind. We were on our way again just after 10 ...
... lunch on board. Corfu was impressive from what we saw. Very lush and green with a gorgeous coastline - you have to leave something to come back and explore! Tonight's entertainment was really fantastic - "East Coast Boys" a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Season" - great to sing along to 4 guys singing with perfect harmony together with a live band. It is still raining a seas a little rougher - but it is meant to be fine in Athens ...
Albania and Montenegro were both beautiful countries, but Albania was the one that surprised us most, incredible scenery, very friendly people and rock bottom prices. It probably didn’t help we had to do so much maintenance in Montenegro but we’d recommend both to anyone as places to visit before they become too popular and over developed!
